Resources

The following resources are available in St. George:

Support Meetings

Often discussing your grief with other families who have been in similar situations is very healing. St. George Share holds a monthly support meeting, discussing various topics. This meeting is held on the third Wednesday of each month at the Washington County Library. We begin at 6:00 p.m. and go until 8:00 p.m. Please confirm dates and times on our Facebook page as special events sometimes take the place of the support meeting.

Mortuaries and their services for babies

More to come....

Burial Clothing

St. George Share offers free burial clothing, greatly ranging in sizes. These items are made from donated fabric and are lovingly made. In addition to dresses and suits, we also have small crocheted booties to match the outfits.

Small Casket or Memorial Box

St. George Share offers free small boxes. These handmade gifts are perfect to bury small angels or to hold priceless mementos. This is a perfect option for miscarriages or losses before 18 weeks, who are not serviced by mortuaries.

Milk Production

One of the most difficult trials of losing a baby is milk production. Mothers are encouraged to not bind their breasts to stop production because it may cause clogged ducts, which leads to mastitis.

To decrease production, mothers should pump minimally if possible. Milk production decreases with antihistamines, ibuprofen for pain, and cabbage leaves for breasts.

Aditi Aromi, a local breastfeeding consultant, offers free services to mothers to help dry up their milk. She can be found on F2F on Facebook. Contact St. George Share for her contact information. She is a great resource.

Miscarriage Support

If you are experiencing a miscarriage or just had a miscarriage and would like to speak with an experienced mother or doula, please contact us, and we will provide you with this resource.

This service is valuable in many ways, especially if you are uncertain of what is to come next or have concerns about the process.
